Hello to you all and we hope you enjoyed the Summer Holidays!!
Today we have been back in the kitchen and experimenting with our new Lavender Soy Wax Candles.
So after having fun and now feeling nicely calm and relaxed from the gorgeous scent of Lavender all day, we are feeling inspired to write a blog on the benefits of Lavender Essential Oil.
Probably one of the most well known essential oils, Lavender is an aromatic shrub native to the Mediterranean region. It is truly one of the most versatile oils, and one of the few that can be applied directly to the skin.It is an anti-depressant, antiseptic, bactericidal, decongestant, insect repellent and sedative…. phew, no wonder it is a favourite!! We also use this oil for its calming, soothing and balancing properties. Balancing in particular, as it can restore unbalanced states of mind or body and allow healing to take place.
A small bottle of lavender is always helpful round the home, massage into the temples to relieve a headache, use directly on skin for burns, it promotes rapid healing and less scarring or use it in a steam inhalation to relieve the symptoms of a cold/sinuses. We often blend lavender with many different oils to help with different conditions including geranium for a double dose of balancing or eucalyptus to help really clear blocked airways. It works like magic in a diffuser for helping send our children off into a blissful nights sleep!
Remember pure essential oils can always be ordered direct from ourselves, our supplier always sources the purest of oils and we are always pleased with the quality. Even better book in for an aromatherapy massage or facial in which we will always use 2/3 different oils in one blend so you get the utmost benefit.
We hope to have our Lavender Soy Candles ready to sell at Demfest on Sunday 25th September at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, which we will be posting more details about in the next week or so.
